About Me
I am an "Acting for Camera" performer. My heart is in acting, directing and film making.
Check out my resume at:   http://www.visualcv.com/lhayeng
My education from 1992 to 2000 was primarily based around film production. My first short film won first place narrative at the Scottsdale Community College 13th Annual Film Festival in 1993. Since, I've learned practically every position behind the lens. It was in 2000 that I chose to begin writing screenplays. I am currently working on my tenth. I don't want to be tagged as a writer really. The only reason I chose to learn screen writing was to write my own screenplays that I could possibly produce independently. A modest budget and a small crew and cast were the ideals I applied toward everything I wrote. I became interested in taking acting classes to improve my communication with the actor as I felt a director needed to learn. I fell in love with "Acting for Camera" and soon I was totally involved studying and learning everything I could about film acting.
I have taken every class possible in this state. Some of them I repeated several times. Problem was they were theater acting courses not acting for camera courses. Because of my background in screenplays and learning how to write good dialog which took hundreds of scene studies, I already had a knack for what good film acting was and where one starts. Not on the stage playing with "space objects" but in front of the lens. The actors audience in film,..the camera lens. I began my studies in front of my bathroom mirror. Then, the exercises I conceived and prepared took place in front of my personal home camcorder. I began recording my exercises and techniques, then it was monologues that I wrote and performed for the camera. Almost a year of training and I never left my home.
I am a versatile and eccentric actor. However, some feel my height and slender build "unsatisfactory". I am not a model,..I am an actor. I like taking on the bigger roles. I am very photogenic and take my personal instrument seriously. I listen closely to the director and let them instruct me as to what he/she wants out of a scene or shot. When I always do it "my way" it becomes predictably my work and that's not right. As an actor, I feel it necessary to be out of control rather than in control most of the time. My work is somewhat realistic yet always interesting. Interest always overcomes realism so far as being truly entertaining.
I have a resume' for anyone to view and will work for nothing if I find the work interesting. I interned as a P.A. on "The Prophecy" and "Tombstone". That's where my P.A. work ended. I am far more valuable at any other position behind the lens. Cinematography and/or Camera operator is one of my better skills.
Please!! Somebody give me a shot acting in their film. You won't be disappointed!

Amen to your Profile Information.

Not all of us are 20 year old models and most of real life isn't either.

I find each scene and each set to require a different delivery and I'm thankful for that

or all Films would be the same ole thing

Keep me posted on your classes.  It sounds interesting.
